在奔驰的SUV车型里，奔驰G-Calss算是最特别、同时也是最具情怀的一款车；方盒子般的经典造型和超强的越野性能，再搭配能给到车主优越感的奔驰大标，使得奔驰大G不仅是许多男性的梦想之车，也成为不少网红和明星喜爱的座驾。
作为年度改款车型，新车奔驰G500的外观与旧款保持一致，在众多的越野车系中，奔驰G500可谓是“鹤立鸡群”般的存在，尤其是那个万变不离其宗的方盒子已经成为了一种经典；前脸依旧保留了家族经典两侧圆形大灯，搭配中网三条横镀铬，将中间的奔驰logo在视觉上更加显眼。
然造型设计上没有太大的改变，但是车身制造工艺也有在每次改款中作出提升，在保持自身越野硬派性格之余，还具有与自身价格相符的豪华质感。车身长宽高分别为4857/1931/1962mm，轴距为2890mm，最小离地间隙达到241mm，保证了较好的通过性，这也是一台越野车最基础的门槛。
新车内饰继续延续奔驰家族的豪华风格，标志性的贯通大屏搭配多功能平底方向盘，营造奢华的内饰氛围是奔驰的拿手绝活，而在这台以越野为主的奔驰G500上，内饰还加入大量镀铬装饰，以此彰显其带有豪华感的同时，整个内饰设计还是偏向越野风格，始终与其硬派造型相融合。
此外，在这次改款中增加的配置为远程启动、车内空气负离子发生器、带360°摄像头的智能泊车系统。其他配置方面则没有改变。而动力方面，新车依旧搭载4.0T发动机，最大输出421PS，最大扭矩610N·m，传动部分匹配9速手自一体变速箱，虽然新车的动力没有提升，但现款的动力总成足以辅助各种翻山越岭，同时在苛刻的排放法规之下，大排量机器的动力能保持不变以算是一种提升了。
其实除了强悍的动力之外，身为硬派越野车代表之一的大G，吸引无数越野爱好者对其的追捧，无疑还有它强大的越野能力，“三把锁”（中央差速锁、后差速锁、前差速锁）的越野配置，同样是奔驰G的看家本领，犹如子弹上膛般的落锁声，以及V8发动机澎湃的排气声浪，奔驰G的迷人之处就是这样如此简单却又触不可及。
